This was composed by Jigpa Mepé Dé,5 a yogin of the Natural Great Perfection, at Lhari Longchen cave on the slopes of Tibet's sacred Five-Peaked Mountain (Riwo Tsé Nga)—a place blessed by the Omniscient Lord of Speech, Longchenpa—6 on the occasion of a gaṇacakra feast held on the third victory day (the 28th) of the waning phase of Vaiśākha,7 in the male Iron Mouse year of the 14th calendrical cycle8 when I was well into my twenty-first year. Having visualized with devotion the lineage of vidyādharas of the Luminous Vajra Essence, as vividly as if they were actually present before my eyes, I wrote down whatever arose in my mind. Through this virtue, may all beings who see, hear, recall or touch this text attain the supreme level of the wisdom guru in this very life.
