Tsokyé Nyingtik

Net of the Illusory Display

The Root Sādhana from the Heart-Essence of the Deathless Lake-Born Vajra

revealed by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo

To the deathless Three-Root deities, I prostrate.

You fortunate beings of the future
Who seek refuge in me, Padma,
And who long for the twofold siddhis,
Having obtained empowerment and abiding by the samayas,
Go to a solitary, delightful, sacred place.
There, on the waxing and waning tenth days,
Before images of wisdom form, speech, and heart,
Arrange fine offerings and feast substances, both outer and inner.

Then, inspired by fierce renunciation, deeply felt,
You should enter this profound path
Through its preliminary, main, and concluding practices.

Ability, mantric power, access to the samādhis,

The four activities, the eight common siddhis,

The four vidyādhara states, the splendor of the ten powers,

The common and supreme siddhis of kāyas and wisdoms indivisible—

All of these accomplishments, I beseech you,

B. Confessing Mistakes

Oṃ āḥ hūṃ. Once more, all that appears is the deity’s wisdom form,

All sounds that ring out are indestructible vajra sound,

And all thoughts are awareness-space naturally liberated.

Conduct yourself within the illusory union state.

F. Making Aspirations

Henceforth, throughout all my lives,

G. Making Prayers for Auspiciousness

And nirmāṇakāya emanations in all manner of guises.

May there be the auspiciousness of the peaceful and wrathful yidams

Bestowing the siddhis, the accomplishments, upon us!

Abiding in the sacred places, lands, and charnel grounds,

The annihilators, the overseers, the guardians of the doctrine.

May there be the auspiciousness of them fulfilling the commands!

sizhi pendé jungwé né

May Buddha’s teaching, the wellspring of benefit and bliss

gyalten chok chur darwa dang

In both existence and peace, spread in all ten directions;

tendzin kyebu zhabpé ten

May the lotus feet of the teaching holders remain firm;

jikten gewé tashi shok

And may the world be filled with virtuous auspiciousness!

tünmong zhi gyé wang drak gi

May the enjoined common activities—pacifying, increasing,

trinlé gang tsam nyur drub ching

Magnetizing, and subjugating—all be swiftly accomplished,

tartuk chok tu mingyur ying

And ultimately, within unchanging basic space,

May we attain true awakening! May such auspiciousness abound!

Recite this and cause flower petals to descend like rain.

Samaya.

If you practice this sādhana of approach and accomplishment
For the maṇḍala deities in whom all three roots converge,
By means of its preliminaries, main part, and concluding stages,
Applying yourself throughout with faith and diligence,
Then, in this very life, all adversity will be appeased
And the supreme and common siddhis will unfold without effort.
In your future life, on the Glorious Mountain of Cāmara,
You will be sure to attain the level of a deathless vidyādhara.
Seal, seal, seal. dhatim.
