This edition of the Longsal Dorje Nyingpo preliminaries, compiled by Khenpo Jamyang Gyalsten (1929–1999) and the Third Katok Getse, Gyurme Tenpa Namgyal (1886–1952), includes Longsal Nyingpo’s original terma verses and a few supplemental sections, including verses by Katok Situ Chökyi Gyatso (1880–1925).

This four-line prayer to accompany the maṇḍala offering is extracted from the common preliminary practices of the Longsal Dorje Nyingpo tradition. It also appears in Chatral Rinpoche's edition of Khenpo Ngawang Palzang's famous guide to the Longchen Nyingtik preliminaries.

This simple practice of 'freeing lives' (tshe thar), which is included in the Rinchen Terdzö, was arranged by Jamgön Kongtrul Rinpoche, who drew mainly upon The Innermost Secret, Unsurpassed Longevity Practice (tshe sgrub yang gsang bla med) of Longsal Nyingpo (1625–1692).
