Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche Long-Life Prayer

༄༅། །ཞེ་ཆེན་རབ་འབྱམས་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་ཞབས་བརྟན་སྨོན་ཚིག

Prayer for the Long Life of Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche

རྟག་བརྟན་གཞོམ་གཞིག་བྲལ་བ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྐུ། །

takten zhomzhik dralwa dorjé ku

Indestructible, enduring body, beyond destruction—the Vajra Body,

ཚངས་དབྱངས་འགགས་པ་མེད་པ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་གསུང༌། །

tsang yang gakpa mepa dorjé sung

Unobstructed melodious speech of Brahmā—the Vajra Speech,

ཟག་བྲལ་བདེ་སྟོང་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ཐུགས་མངའ་བའི། །

zakdral detong dorjé tuk ngawé

Possessor of stainless bliss-emptiness— the Vajra Mind:

རྩ་གསུམ་ཚེ་ལྷའི་ཚོགས་ཀྱིས་དགེ་ལེགས་སྩོལ། །

tsa sum tselhé tsok kyi gelek tsol

May the assembly of Three Roots and longevity deities bestow goodness!

ཀུན་བཟང་པདྨའི་རིང་ལུགས་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེའི། །

kunzang pemé ringluk dzogpa ché

The tradition of Samantabhadra and Padmākara is the Great Perfection, Dzogpachenpo.

བསྟན་པའི་ཉི་མ་མཚུངས་མེད་རབ་འབྱམས་པ། །

tenpé nyima tsungmé rabjam pa

For its teachings, you are a brilliant sun, beyond compare, infinite in your wisdom,

བཤད་སྒྲུབ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སེང་གེ་ཟླ་བྲལ་མཆོག །

shedrub chökyi sengé dadral chok

Peerless great lion of the Dharma, of teaching and practice:

གསང་གསུམ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ཁམས་སུ་བརྟན་གྱུར་ཅིག །

sang sum dorjé kham su ten gyur chik

May your secret body, speech and mind remain steadfast and indestructible!

མདོ་སྔགས་བསྟན་པ་གཉིས་ལྡན་ངུར་སྨྲིག་སྡེའི། །

do ngak tenpa nyiden ngurmik dé

As you remain stable, as the pinnacle of the victory banner

དད་བསོད་རྒྱལ་མཚན་རྩེ་ན་རྟག་བརྟན་ཞིང་། །

dé sogyal tsen tsé na takten zhing

That is the faith and merit of the saffron-clad followers of both sūtra and tantra,

འཁོར་ལོ་གསུམ་གྱི་ཕྲིན་ལས་དར་ཞིང་རྒྱས། །

khorlo sum gyi trinlé dar zhing gyé

May the three spheres of your activity increase and flourish,

སྙན་གྲགས་འཛམ་གླིང་ཡོངས་ལ་ཁྱབ་གྱུར་ཅིག །

nyendrak dzamling yong la khyab gyur chik

And may your fame spread throughout the entire world!

ཅེས་པའང་ཤཱཀྱའི་དགེ་སློང་རྒན་པོ་ཨོ་རྒྱན་ཐུགས་མཆོག་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཚེ་དབང་གྲུབ་པས་བདེན་ཚིག་སྨོན་ལམ་དུ་གསོལ་བ་སླར་མཆོག་སྤྲུལ་གྱི་ཞབས་བརྟན་དུ་ཞལ་བསྒྱུར་བ་སིདྡྷི་རསྟུ། །དགེའོ། །

This prayer of truth was composed by the elderly monk-follower of Śākyamuni, Orgyen Tukchok Dorje Tsewang Drubpa, and later adapted as a long-life prayer for the supreme incarnation.¹ Siddhirastu! Virtue!
