༄༅། །ཀླུ་མོ་རབ་ཀྱི་བརྒྱུད་འདེབས་བཞུགས།

Prayer to the Lineage of Lumorab

ན་མོ་གུ་རུ།

Namo Guru!

ངེས་གསང་གི་རྩེ་མོ་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས། །

ngé sang gi tsemo changchub sem

Bodhicitta, summit of ultimate secrecy,

སྲིད་ཞིའི་ཆོས་ཟུང་འཇུག་མཉམ་པར་བརྡལ། །

sizhi chö zungjuk nyampar dal

Expression of the equal unity of existence and peace,

གྲངས་མེད་ཀྱི་གྲུབ་རིགས་གཙུག་ན་ཏོག །

drangmé kyi drub rik tsuk na tok

Crowning ornament of the accomplished family, beyond all counting,

དཔལ་མགོན་རྗེ་འཁྲུལ་ཞིག་གླིང་པ་མཁྱེན། །

palgön jé trulzhik lingpa khyen

Glorious protector, Lord Trulshik Lingpa,¹ think of me!

 

རྒྱལ་སྲས་ཀྱི་སྤྱོད་པ་རྒྱ་མཚོར་འཇུག །

gyalsé kyi chöpa gyatsor juk

You entered the ocean of bodhisattva conduct,

རྒྱལ་བསྟན་དང་སེམས་ཅན་ཕན་བདེའི་གཉེན། །

gyalten dang semchen pendé nyen

The remedy that benefits the teachings and brings comfort to beings,

རྒྱལ་ཀུན་གྱི་དགོངས་པའི་ཀློང་དུ་ཕེབས། །

gyal kün gyi gongpé long du peb

And you reached the wisdom expanse of all the Victors.

རྗེ་བཙུན་དཔལ་བསོད་ནམས་མཐའ་ཡས་མཁྱེན། །

jetsün pal sönam tayé khyen

Glorious sovereign, Sönam Thayé,² think of me!

 

མདོ་སྔགས་ཀྱི་ཤིང་རྟ་བེ་རོ་རྗེའི། །

do ngak kyi shingta bé ro jé

With the great and glorious dawning of your tremendous love

རྗེས་བརྩེ་ཡི་སྣང་བ་ཡོངས་ཤར་ནས། །

jé tsé yi nangwa yong shar né

For the chariot of sūtra and mantra of the Lord Vairocana,

མཆོག་གསུམ་གྱི་ཨ་ཏིར་འཁོར་ལོས་བསྒྱུར། །

chok sum gyi atir khorlö gyur

You turn the Ati-wheel of the Triple Gem.

རིག་འཛིན་རྗེ་སྐུ་གསུམ་གླིང་པ་མཁྱེན། །

rigdzin jé ku sum lingpa khyen

Awareness-holder, Lord Kusum Lingpa,³ think of me!

 

རྒྱལ་བ་ཉིད་རྒྱལ་བའི་སྲས་སུ་བལྟམས། །

gyalwa nyi gyalwé sé su tam

A buddha yourself, you took birth as a bodhisattva,

སྔ་འགྱུར་གྱི་བསྟན་པའི་གསང་མཛོད་འཛིན། །

ngagyur gyi tenpé sangdzö dzin

Holder of the secret treasury of the Ngagyur⁴ teachings.

མཁས་གྲུབ་ཀྱི་རྣམ་ཐར་བསམ་མི་ཁྱབ། །

khedrub kyi namtar sam mikhyab

Your life of learning and accomplishment is beyond imagination.

སྐྱབས་མཆོག་རྗེ་པདྨ་དབང་ཆེན་མཁྱེན། །

kyab chok jé pema wangchen khyen

Supreme Refuge, Lord Pema Wangchen,⁵ think of me!

 

ཟབ་གཏེར་ཀུན་བཀའ་ཡི་བསྡུ་བ་མཛད། །

zabter kün ka yi duwa dzé

Compiling all the profound treasure-teachings,

སྔོན་བྱོན་གྱི་དམ་པའི་རྗེས་སུ་ཞུགས། །

ngön jön gyi dampé jesu zhuk

You followed in the footsteps of previous sublime beings,

གྲུབ་གཉིས་མཆོག་དཔལ་རྟག་པ་རོལ། །

drub nyi chok pal takpa rol

Always delighting in the two accomplishments.

དྲིན་ཆེན་རྗེ་རསྨི་བཛྲ་མཁྱེན། །

drinchen jé rami benza khyen

Lord of Great Kindness, supreme and glorious, Raśmi Vajra,⁶ think of me!

 

རིས་མེད་ཀྱི་ཡོངས་འཛིན་གཙུག་ན་མཆོག །

rimé kyi yongdzin tsuk na chok

Supreme adornment, master of the Rime teachings,

སྨིན་གྲོལ་གྱི་གདམས་ཟབ་ཐུགས་ལ་ཕེབ། །

mindrol gyi dam zab tuk la peb

You internalized the profound ripening and liberating instructions,

འཁྲུལ་རྟོག་གི་འཛིན་རྩོལ་དབྱིངས་སུ་ཡལ། །

trul tok gi dzin tsol ying su yal

And all the clinging and effort of thinking dissolved into space.

གྲུབ་དབང་མཆོག་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྡོ་རྗེ་མཁྱེན། །

drubwang chok yeshe dorjé khyen

Supreme Lord of Siddhas, Yeshé Dorjé,⁷ think of me!

 

དོན་བརྒྱུད་ཀྱི་དགོངས་པའི་རྩལ་ཆེན་རྫོགས། །

dön gyü kyi gongpé tsal chen dzok

You perfected the wisdom of the ultimate lineage,

ཀུན་བཟང་གི་སྤྱོད་པས་གཞན་སྣང་བསྒྱུར། །

kunzang gi chöpé zhennang gyur

Inspiring others with your perfect conduct,

འོད་གསལ་གྱི་སྣང་བ་ཚད་ལ་ཕེབས། །

ösal gyi nangwa tsé la peb

And reaching the very pinnacle of luminous appearances.

རྒྱལ་སྲས་རྗེ་ཆོས་དབྱིངས་རྡོ་རྗེ་མཁྱེན། །

gyalsé jé chöying dorjé khyen

Lord Bodhisattva Chöying Dorjé,⁸ think of me!

 

འཇམ་དཔལ་གྱི་བྱིན་རླབས་ཐུགས་ལ་ཞུགས། །

jampal gyi jinlab tuk la zhuk

The blessings of Mañjuśrī entered your heart,

ཟག་མེད་ཀྱི་དགོངས་པའི་མཚོ་ཆེན་བརྡོལ། །

zakmé kyi gongpé tso chen dol

Causing an ocean of pristine wisdom to pour forth.

རང་གྲོལ་ལ་སྤྱོད་པའི་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ །

rangdrol la chöpé heruka

Heruka, sporting in self-liberation,

མཁས་གྲུབ་རྗེ་ཕན་བདེའི་འོད་ཟེར་མཁྱེན། །

khedrub jé pendé özer khyen

Learned adept, Lord Pendé Özer,⁹ think of me!

 

ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཅན་ཕྱག་ན་པད་དཀར་འཆང་། །

tukjé chen chak na pekar chang

Compassionate bearer of the white lotus,

གསང་སྟོན་གྱི་གྲུབ་པའི་སྐུར་བཞེངས་པ། །

sang tön gyi drubpé kurzhengpa

Taking the form of an accomplished secret preceptor,

བརྟུལ་ཞུགས་ལ་སྤྱོད་པའི་རིག་པ་འཛིན། །

tulzhuk la chöpé rigpa dzin

You hold the awareness of yogic discipline.

འགྲོ་མགོན་རྗེ་དོན་གྲུབ་དབང་རྒྱལ་མཁྱེན། །

dro gön jé döndrub wanggyal khyen

Protector of beings, Lord Döndrup Wangyal,¹⁰ think of me!

 

མཐུ་སྟོབས་ཀྱི་དབྱུག་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཛིན། །

tutob kyi yuk dorjé dzin

Powerful vajra-mace holder,

བདག་ཅག་གི་མོས་ངོར་དགེ་བའི་བཤེས། །

dakchak gi mö ngor geweshé

Before our faithful countenance you are a virtuous friend

གཞུང་ལུགས་ཀུན་གདམས་པར་དྲིལ་ནས་སྟོན། །

zhungluk kün dampar dril né tön

Who teaches the essential pith of all philosophies.

ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྗེ་མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་ནོར་བུར་མཁྱེན། །

chö kyi jé khyentsé norbur khyen

Dharma Lord, Khyentsé Norbu,¹¹ think of me!

 

གཞོན་ནུའི་མཆོག་ཟུར་ཕུད་ལྔ་པའི་གར། །

zhönnü chok zurpü ngapé gar

Supreme youth, embodying the dance of the five topknots,¹²

འཆད་རྩོད་ཀྱིས་རྒྱལ་བསྟན་གསལ་བར་མཛད། །

ché tsö kyi gyalten salwar dzé

You clarify the Victor’s teachings with explanation and debate.

འཇིགས་མེད་ཀྱི་ཁྱུ་མཆོག་སྨྲ་བའི་མཛོད། །

jikme kyi khyuchok mawé dzö

Treasury of speech, fearless leader,

སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་གྲགས་པ་མཁྱེན། །

sempa ché chö kyi drakpa khyen

Great Bodhisattva, Chökyi Drakpa,¹³ think of me!

 

མཚོ་རྒྱལ་མ་གདུལ་བྱའི་སྣང་ངོ་རུ། །

tsogyalma duljé nang ngo ru

Lady Tsogyal, in the form of a disciple

མིག་གཟུགས་སུ་བྱོན་པ་རྣལ་འབྱོར་མ། །

mik zuk su jönpa naljorma

You arrived for all to see. Yoginī,

བྱིན་རློབ་དང་མཁྱེན་བརྩེ་ནུས་པའི་མཛོད། །

jin lob dang khyen tsé nü pé dzö

Treasury of blessings, wisdom, love, and power,

ཀུན་བཟང་མོ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྒྲོལ་མ་མཁྱེན། །

kunzang mo chö kyi drolma khyen

Samantabhadrī, Chökyi Drolma,¹⁴ think of me!

 

གཏེར་ཆེན་རྗེའི་དུས་ན་ཨརྤ་ལ། །

terchen jé dü na arpa la

At the time of the Great Tertön Arpa,

བདག་ཅག་གི་འདྲེན་མཆོག་བརྩེ་བའི་བདག །

dakchak gi dren chok tsewé dak

You were our supreme guide, loving lord.

ལུགས་གཉིས་ལ་མཁྱེན་པའི་དཔལ་མངའ་བ། །

luk nyi la khyenpé pal ngawa

Glorious sovereign, knower of the two traditions,

ངག་དབང་རྗེ་བསྟན་འཛིན་ཆོས་རྗེ་མཁྱེན། །

ngawang jé tendzin chöjé khyen

Lord of Speech, Lord Tendzin Chöjé,¹⁵ think of me!

 

འཕགས་ཡུལ་དུ་གྲུབ་ཆེན་སཱ་ར་ཧ། །

pakyul du drubchen sa ra ha

In the noble land of India, you were the Mahāsiddha Saraha,

བོད་ཡུལ་དུ་མར་པ་ལོ་ཙཱ་བ། །

böyul dumar pa lotsawa

And in Tibet, the Lotsawa Marpa.

སྨྱོན་པ་ཡི་རྟུལ་ཞུགས་སྤྱོད་མཛད་པ། །

nyönpa yi tul zhuk chö dzepa

You demonstrated the courageous discipline of a madman.

གྲུབ་ཆེན་མགོན་པདྨ་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་མཁྱེན། །

drubchen gön pema namgyal khyen

Mahāsiddha Protector Pema Namgyal,¹⁶ think of me!

 

པད་དཀར་མགོན་བདག་ཅག་འདྲེན་པའི་དཔལ། །

pekar gön dakchak drenpé pal

White lotus protector, our glorious guide,

རྒྱལ་ཀུན་གྱི་ངོ་བོ་གཅིག་བསྡུས་པ། །

gyal kün gyi ngowo chikdü pa

Single essence of all the Victors,

མཁྱེན་བརྩེ་ནུས་པའི་དཔལ་མངའ་བ། །

khyen tsé nü pé pal ngawa

Sovereign of wisdom, love, and power

འཇམ་དབྱངས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་གྲགས་པ་མཁྱེན། །

jamyang chö kyi drakpa khyen

Jamyang Chökyi Drakpa,¹⁷ think of me!

 

ལོ་ན་ནི་རྒས་ཤིང་ཁོག་པ་ལ། །

lona ni gé shing khokpa la

Although you are old and getting on in years,

སྤྱོད་པ་ནི་བྱི་བའི་སྤྱོད་པ་ཅན། །

chöpa ni jiwé chöpachen

Your behaviour is like that of a child,

སུ་ཡི་ཡང་ཁ་ལ་མི་ཉན་པ། །

su yi yang khala mi nyenpa

And you do not listen to anyone.

སྨྱོན་པ་གཅིག་ཀུན་བཟང་དབང་རྒྱལ་མཁྱེན། །

nyönpa chik kunzang wanggyal khyen

Crazy Yogi Kunzang Wangyal,¹⁸ think of me!

 

བདག་ཅག་ལ་ལྷ་སྐལ་བབ་པའི་མགོན། །

dakchak la lhakal babpé gön

Protector, our destined deity, come!

གྲུབ་པའི་རྗེ་ཡབ་སྲས་མཆོག་རྣམས་ལ། །

drubpé jé yabsé chok nam la

Lords of accomplishment, great masters and disciples,

གདུང་ཤུགས་ཀྱི་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པའི་མཐུས། །

dungshuk kyi solwa tabpé tü

By the power of my prayers, sincere and earnest,

བྱིན་རླབས་དགོངས་པ་འཕོ་བར་ཤོག །

jinlab gongpa powar shok

Let fall the rain of blessings of wisdom!

འཕགས་ཆེན་གྱི་བརྟུལ་ཞུགས་སྤྱི་དང་ནི། །

pak chen gyi tulzhuk chi dang ni

Free from the quagmire of positive and negative perception,

བཀའ་གདམས་ཀྱི་དགོངས་སྤྱོད་མ་ཉམས་པ། །

kadam kyi gong chö manyampa

May I attain the yogic discipline of the great Noble Ones

འདི་སྣང་ལ་ལེགས་ཉེས་འདམ་ཁ་བྲལ། །

dinang la leknyé dam khadral

And the unfailing realization and conduct of the Kadampas.

ཆོས་བརྒྱད་ཀྱི་གྲགས་སྐམ་རབ་ཏུ་སྤངས། །

chö gyé kyi drak kam rabtu pang

May I abandon the eight superficial ways of the world

འཕགས་ནོར་གྱི་བདག་རྒྱུད་ཕྱུགས་པར་མཛོད། །

pak nor gyi dak gyü chukpar dzö

And make my mind wealthy with the noblest of riches!

དཔལ་མགོན་གྱི་དམ་པ་ཁྱེད་རྣམས་ལྟར། །

palgön gyi dampa khyé nam tar

May I become like you, sublime and glorious protectors,

གཟུང་འཛིན་ཆོས་ཐད་ཀར་ཞིག་པ་དང་། །

zungdzin chö tekar zhikpa dang

You who are rid of the clinging to phenomena,

རྒྱལ་གྲོལ་གྱི་རིག་པ་གཟའ་གཏད་བྲལ། །

gyal drol gyi rigpa zaté dral

You, of the supreme liberation—awareness, free from fixation,

སྣང་སྲིད་ཀུན་ཡང་དག་སྣང་བ་ཤར། །

nangsi kün yangdak nangwa shar

You, who have genuinely seen the illumination of appearance and existence!

ཚེ་འདི་ལ་མཆོག་གི་གྲུབ་བརྙེས་མཛོད། །

tsé di la chok gi drub nyé dzö

Bestow the supreme accomplishments, in this very life!

བདག་ཅག་རྣམས་སྐྱེ་བའི་ཕྲེང་བ་ཀུན། །

dakchak nam kyewé trengwa kün

In all our lifetimes, may we never be separated

རྗེ་བཙུན་གྱི་དམ་པ་ཁྱེད་རྣམས་དང་། །

jetsün gyi dampa khyé nam dang

From you—sublime and perfect, immaculate beings!

འབྲལ་མེད་དུ་བདུད་རྩིའི་དཔལ་ལ་སྤྱོད། །

dralmé du dütsi pal la chö

Please enjoy the riches of this amṛta,

ཕྱམ་གཅིག་ཏུ་མངོན་པར་བྱང་ཆུབ་ནས། །

chamchik tu ngönpar changchub né

And then, having attained complete awakening together,

མཐའ་ཡས་ཀྱི་འགྲོ་བ་སྒྲོལ་བར་ཤོག །

tayé kyi drowa drolwar shok

May we liberate infinite beings!

 

ཅེས་དམ་པ་མཆོག་རྣམས་ལ་མི་ཕྱེད་པའི་དད་པའི་སྐལ་བཟང་ཐོབ་པ་སྒྲུབ་བརྩོན་ཀུན་བཟང་གི་བསྐུལ་ངོར་མི་ལྡོག་ཙམ་དུ་སྐྱབས་གསུམ་འཛིན་པ་དཀོན་མཆོག་འབངས་པས་བྲིས། ༈ གོང་དུ་པདྨ་དབང་ཆེན། རསྨི་བཛྲ། དོན་འགྲུབ་དབང་རྒྱལ། མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་ནོར་བུ། ཆོས་ཀྱི་གྲགས་པ་རྣམས་ཁ་སྐོང་བ་མཛད་པ་པོ་འཇམ་དཔལ་བདེ་བའི་ཉི་མ་དང་། ཡེ་ཤེས་རྡོ་རྗེ། ཆོས་དབྱིངས་རྡོ་རྗེ། ཕན་བདེའི་འོད་ཟེར་རྣམས་ཁ་སྐོང་པ་པོ་མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་ནོར་བུའི་གསུངས་ཡིན་ནོ།

Unable to deny the sincere request of the fortunate individual who displays such diligent practice and unwavering faith in these sublime and supreme beings, I, the devotee Könchok Bangpa,¹⁹ holder of the Three Refuges, wrote this down. Those verses dedicated to Pema Wangchen, Raśmi Vajra, Döndrup Wangyal, Khyentsé Norbu, and Chökyi Drakpa were added by Jampal Dewé Nyima. Those dedicated to Yeshé Dorjé, Chöying Dorjé, and Pendé Özer were added by Khyentsé Norbu.²⁰
