Taking Refuge and Arousing Bodhicitta

ན་མོ།

namo,

Namo!

བླ་མ་དབང་དྲག་ཧེ་རུ་ཀར། །

lama wang drak herukar

In the guru, the powerful and wrathful heruka,

སྐྱབས་མཆི་འགྲོ་དོན་བྱང་སེམས་བསྐྱེད། །

kyab chi dro dön changsem kyé

I take refuge. For the sake of all beings, I arouse bodhicitta.

ལན་གསུམ།

Three times

The Visualization

ཧཱུྃ། སྐད་ཅིག་རང་ཉིད་གྲོ་བོ་ལོད། །

hung, kechik rangnyi drowolö

Hūṃ! Instantaneously I visualize myself as Dorje Drolö:

སྨུག་ནག་ཁྲོ་གཏུམ་ཨམ་གཙིགས་བསྡམས། །

muk nak trotum amtsik dam

Reddish-brown, ferociously wrathful and chewing his lower lip;

གཡས་གཡོན་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལྕགས་ཕུར་གདེངས། །

yé yön dorjé chakpur deng

His right hand wields a vajra, his left a kīla of iron;

ཟབ་བེར་ཆོས་གོས་སག་ལྷམ་གསོལ། །

zabber chögö saklham sol

Clad in a brocade gown, Dharma robes and boots;

དབུ་སྐྲ་གཡས་འཁྱིལ་དུང་ལོང་འཁྲོལ། །

utra yé khyil dunglong trol

His hair curls to the right, and his conch earrings rattle.

ཐོད་རློན་ཕྲེང་བ་དོ་ཤལ་འཕྱང༌། །

tö lön trengwa doshal chang

Adorned with a garland of freshly severed human heads,

ཡེ་ཤེས་མེ་དཔུང་འབར་བའི་ཀློང༌། །

yeshe mepung barwé long

Amidst a blaze of wisdom fire,

སྟག་མོ་གྲུས་མའི་སྟེང་ན་འགྱིང༌། །

takmo drümé teng na gying

He is poised on a tigress who has just given birth.

ཐུགས་ཀར་ཉི་སྟེང་ཧཱུྃ་དམར་མཐར། །

tukkar nyi teng hung mar tar

In his heart, on a sun disc, around a red hūṃ

རྩ་བའི་སྔགས་ཀྱིས་བསྐོར་བར་བསྒོམ། །

tsawé ngak kyi korwar gom

Revolves the root mantra.

ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ།

hung hung hung

hūṃ hūṃ hūṃ

ཞེས་དང༌། །

and

ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་བཛྲ་གུ་རུ་གྲོ་བོ་ལོད་ལོ་ཀ་སརྦ་སིདྡྷི་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ།

om ah hung benza guru drowolö loka sarwa siddhi hung hung

oṃ āḥ hūṃ vajra guru drowolö loka sarva siddhi hūṃ hūṃ

Recite as many as you can

The Dissolution

ཞེས་ཅི་འགྲུབ་བཟླས་མཐར།

At the end of the recitation:

ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ་གིས་འོད་གསལ་དུ་བསྡུ། 

hung hung hung

With hūṃ hūṃ hūṃ, everything dissolves into clear light.

ཕཊ་ཕཊ་ཕཊ་ཀྱིས་སླར་ཡང་སྐུར་ལྡང༌། 

pé pé pé

With phaṭ phaṭ phaṭ, once again assume the form of the deity.

Dedication of Merit and Prayer of Auspiciousness

དགེ་འདིས་བདག་དང་འགྲོ་བ་ཀུན། །

gé di dak dang drowa kün

Through this merit, may I and all beings

བདུད་འདུལ་གྲོ་ལོད་སྐུར་སྨིན་ནས། །

dü dul drolö kur min né

Mature into the form of Dorjé Drolö, subjugator of māras,

བདུད་བཞིའི་གཡུལ་ལས་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་ཏེ། །

dü zhi yul lé namgyal té

And be utterly victorious in battle over the four māras,

འཁོར་བ་དོང་སྤྲུགས་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཤོག །

khorwa dongtruk tashi shok

So that all is auspicious for us to empty the depths of saṃsāra.

ཅེས་སོགས་བསྔོ་སྨོན་ཤིས་བརྗོད་བྱའོ། །

Accordingly, make prayers of dedication, aspiration and auspiciousness.

ཞེས་པའང་ཨ་རིའི་མོས་ལྡན་འགའི་ཉམས་ལེན་དུ་འཇིགས་བྲལ་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྡོ་རྗེས་སོ།།
