Yarlha Shampo Sang Offering

ཀྱེ།  དབུས་གཙང་རུ་བཞིའི་ཡུལ་ལྷ་ཆེ།  །

kyé, ütsang ru zhi yullha ché

Kye. Great local deity of the four ranges of Ü and Tsang,

ས་བརྒྱད་སེམས་དཔའ་དཀར་ཕྱོགས་སྐྱོང་།  །

sa gyé sempa karchok kyong

Eighth level bodhisattva, guardian of the virtuous,

གཞི་བདག་ཡོངས་ཀྱི་སྡེ་དཔོན་ཆེ།  །

zhidak yong kyi depön ché

Great chieftain of all the local guardian deities,

མཆོད་བསྟོད་དྲེགས་པའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་དུ།  །

chötö drekpé kyilkhor du

Empowered in the maṇḍala of Chötö's haughty spirits,

དབང་ཐོབ་དམ་གནོས་དྲེགས་པའི་རྗེ།  །

wang tob dam nö drekpé jé

You took on your commitment as leaders of the arrogant,

ཤམ་པོ་ཡབ་ཡུམ་སྲས་འཁོར་དང་།  །

shampo yabyum sé khor dang

Shampo deities, male and female, together with your offspring,

བཀའ་ཉན་སྤྲུལ་པའི་དམག་ཚོགས་བཅས།  །

kanyen trulpé mak tsok ché

And the hosts of attendants and emanated martial forces,

འདིར་གཤེགས་བསང་དང་གསེར་སྐྱེམས་དང་།  །

dir shek sang dang serkyem dang

Come now! Accept these offerings of incense smoke,

དཀོར་ཆ་སྣ་ཚོགས་མཆོད་པ་བཞེས།  །

korcha natsok chöpa zhé

Golden drink and various other excellent gifts.

ཉམས་པ་སངས་ལ་འཐིབས་པ་དྭངས།  །

nyampa sang la tibpa dang

Clear away degeneration, brighten the gloom,

མི་མཐུན་གནོད་པའི་རྐྱེན་ཀུན་སྲུངས།  །

mitün nöpé kyen kün sung

Guard against all forms of harm and adversity.

མཐུན་པའི་དངོས་གྲུབ་བདག་ལ་སྩོལ།  །

tünpé ngödrub dak la tsol

Grant us the attainment of all that is favourable.

ཆོས་འཁོར་གཙུག་ལག་དབེན་གནས་སྐྱོངས།  །

chökhor tsuklak wenné kyong

Guard dharma centres, temples, and hermitages,

བསྟན་པ་བསྟན་འཛིན་དར་ཞིང་རྒྱས།  །

tenpa tendzin dar zhing gyé

Cause the teachings and their holders to prosper and flourish,

འཇིག་རྟེན་བདེ་ཞིང་སྐྱིད་པ་དང་།  །

jikten dé zhing kyipa dang

Bring joy and happiness to the people of this world,

བཅོལ་བའི་ལས་རྣམས་བསྒྲུབ་ཏུ་གསོལ།  །

cholwé lé nam drub tu sol

And carry out the activities we entrust to you.

བསྟན་ལ་གནོད་པའི་ཡིད་བསྲུབས་ཚོགས།  །

ten la nöpé yi sub tsok

Destroy the deranged who harm the teachings,

ཐལ་བའི་རྡུལ་བཞིན་རློགས་པ་དང་།  །

talwé dul zhin lokpa dang

Crushing them as if into dust.

རྒྱ་འདྲེ་འགོང་པོའི་རྒྱུ་ལམ་ཆོད།  །

gyadré gongpö gyu lam chö

Block the paths of the gyadré and [[gongpo] demons.

བསྟན་པའི་སྦྱིན་བདག་དབུ་འཕང་མཐོ།  །

tenpé jindak upang to

Elevate the status of the patrons of the teachings.

ཕྱོགས་ལས་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་ཕྲིན་ལས་མཛོད།  །

chok lé namgyal trinlé dzö

And carry out your activity, victorious over all.

ཀི་བསྭོ་ཆའོ་ལྷ་རྒྱལ་ལོ།  །

ki so cha o lha gyal lo

Ki So Cha'o! Lha gyal lo!

བཀྲ་ཤིས་སྲིད་ཞིའི་དཔལ་འབྱོར་ཀུན།  །

tashi sizhi paljor kün

All auspiciousness, splendour and wealth throughout existence and quiescence—

ཆུ་བོའི་རྒྱུན་བཞིན་འདུ་བར་མཛོད།  །

chuwö gyün zhin duwar dzö

Gather them together like a flowing river.

ཅེས་ཕྱེ་མར་གསེར་སྐྱེམས་མཆོད་དོ།  །

With this, offer barley flour and butter and a serkyem (golden drink).

 

ཅེས་པའང་མེ་སྤྲེལ་སྣྲོན་ཟླའི་ཚེས་ཉེར་གསུམ་ལ་ལྕགས་རྩི་གྲི་གུའི་ཉེ་འགྲམ་ལྷ་ཆེན་པོ་ཡར་ལྷ་ཤམ་པོའི་མདུན་སྟ་རྩ་ཆུ་མིག་གི་ནེའུ་ཐང་དུ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་པས་བྲིས་པ་དགེའོ།།  །།

Chökyi Lodrö wrote this on the meadow of Tatsa Chumik in front of Yarlha Shampo, in the vicinity of Chaktsi Drigu, on the twenty-third day of the Jyaiṣṭha [i.e., fifth] month in the Fire Monkey year. May virtue abound!
