A Daily Fulfilment Practice for Gönpo Lekden

དཔལ་ཆེན་པོ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །

Homage to the Awesome One!

འདིར་མགོན་པོ་ལེགས་ལྡན་གྱི་མཆོད་གཏོར་རྒྱུན་ཁྱེར་ནི། གཏོར་ཚོགས་རྣམས་འབྲུ་གསུམ་གྱིས་བརླབས་ལ་ཡི་དམ་གྱི་ང་རྒྱལ་དང་ལྡན་པས།

Here follows a daily practice for torma offering and praise to Gönpo Lekden. Bless the offering tormas with the three syllables and assume the pride of your yidam deity.

ཧཱུྃ། དཔལ་ཆེན་ཐུགས་ལས་སྤྲུལ་པའི་སྲས། །

hung, palchen tuk lé trulpé sé

Hūṃ. Gönpo, son of the Awesome One, emanated from his heart,

མགོན་པོ་ས་བཅུའི་དབང་ཕྱུག་ཆེ། །

gönpo sa chü wangchuk ché

Mighty Lord of the tenth bhūmi,

ལེགས་ལྡན་ནག་པོ་ཚོགས་ཀྱི་བདག །

lekden nakpo tsok kyi dak

Lekden Nakpo, master of the assembly,

ལྗང་ནག་ཞལ་གསུམ་ཕྱག་དྲུག་པ། །

jang nak zhal sum chak drukpa

Dark green, with three faces and six arms,

དུར་ཁྲོད་རོལ་པའི་ཆས་ཀྱིས་བརྒྱན། །

durtrö rolpé ché kyi gyen

And adorned with the charnel ground attributes;

ཡུམ་ཆེན་ཀྲོ་ཏི་ཤྭ་རཱི་མ། །

yumchen krotishorima

With the great mother Krodhiśvarī,

གནོད་སྦྱིན་ཁྲོ་བོ་སྲིན་མོའི་ཚོགས། །

nöjin trowo sinmö tsok

With your retinue—hosts of yakṣas and wrathful rākṣasīs,

དབང་མོ་ཉེར་བརྒྱད་གཽ་རཱི་སོགས། །

wangmo nyer gyé gauri sok

The twenty-eight īśvarīs, the gaurīs and the rest,

སྤྲུལ་པ་ཡང་སྤྲུལ་འཁོར་དང་བཅས། །

trulpa yangtrul khor dangché

Together with retinues of emanations and further emanations—

ལང་ཀའི་ཡུལ་དང་མ་ལ་ཡ། །

langké yul dang malaya

From the land of Laṅka, Malaya,

ཀོ་ཀ་ཐང་དམར་གནམ་ལྕགས་འབར། །

koka tang mar namchak bar

The red plain of Koka, the Blazing Lightning Mountain,¹

དྲག་ཤུལ་ཅན་གྱི་རྩེ་མོ་སོགས། །

drakshul chen gyi tsemo sok

The peak of Drakshulchen and other places,

གར་བཞུགས་གནས་ནས་སྤྱན་འདྲེན་གྱི། །

gar zhukné né chendren gyi

From wherever you abide, we invite you!

སྐད་ཅིག་ཡུད་ལ་གཤེགས་སུ་གསོལ། །

kechik yü la shek su sol

Come now, at this very instant, we pray!

ཨོཾ་བྷུར་ཀུར་མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ལ་ཀྲོ་དྷི་ཤྭ་རཱི་ནག་མོ་ཏི་ལཾ་ཨེ་ཨར་ལི་ཧྲིང་ཧྲིང་ཛཿཛཿས་མ་ཡ་ཏིཥྛ་ལྷན།

om bhurkur mahakala krodhi shori nakmo ti lam é ar li hring hring dza dza samaya tishta lhen

oṃ bhur kur mahākāla krodhiśvarī nakmo tilaṃ e arali hriṃ hriṃ jaḥ jaḥ samaya tiṣṭha lhan

མཆོད་པ་ནི།

Offerings

ཧཱུྃ། །འདོད་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན་ལྔ་ཡིས་རབ་བརྒྱན་ཅིང་། །

hung, döpé yönten nga yi rab gyen ching

Hūṃ. Offerings adorned with the five sensory delights

ཡེ་ཤེས་ལྔ་ཡི་འོད་ཟེར་རྣམ་པར་འཕྲོ། །

yeshe nga yi özer nampar tro

Radiate light rays of the five wisdoms,

དབང་པོ་དྲུག་གི་ཡུལ་ལ་སྤྱོད་ཡུལ་འགྱེད། །

wangpo druk gi yul la chöyul gyé

Bringing delight to the six senses.

དྲི་ཆེན་དྲི་ཆུའི་ཚོགས་ནི་དབའ་རླབས་འཁྲུག །

drichen drichü tsok ni walab truk

Excrement and urine surge up in waves;

རཀྟ་དམར་གྱི་རང་བཞིན་རྒྱ་མཚོར་འཁྱིལ། །

rakta mar gyi rangzhin gyatsor khyil

An ocean of rakta, red in nature, swirls;

མཱཾ་ས་ཤ་ཡི་རང་བཞིན་རི་ལྟར་སྤུངས། །

mam sa sha yi rangzhin ri tar pung

Māṃsa, the nature of flesh, is heaped up like a mountain;

ཀེང་རུས་རུས་པའི་རང་བཞིན་རྫ་ལྟར་བསྙིལ། །

keng rü rüpé rangzhin dza tar nyil

Skeletons, the nature of bones, are broken like shards of rock;

དཔལ་ལྡན་ལེགས་ལྡན་ཡབ་སྲས་ཡུམ་དང་བཅས། །

palden lekden yab sé yum dangché

Glorious Lekden, with your son and consort,

གཙོ་དང་འཁོར་དུ་བཅས་པའི་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང་། །

tso dang khor du chepé tukdam kang

Lord and retinue, through these offerings, may your wishes be fulfilled!

 

མེ་ཏོག་ཕྲེང་བ་ལ་སོགས་རིན་ཆེན་དབྱིག །

metok trengwa lasok rinchen yik

Garlands of flowers and the like, precious stones,

མར་མེ་མུན་སེལ་དྲི་ཞིམ་སྤོས་ཀྱི་མཆོག །

marmé münsel drizhim pö kyi chok

Lights that dispel darkness, excellent and fragrant incense,

བདུད་རྩི་ཡོན་ཆབ་འོ་མ་ཀུན་གྱི་གསོས། །

dütsi yönchab oma kün gyi sö

Nectar-like drinking water and milk that nourishes all,

སྒྲིབ་སེལ་བཤོས་གཙང་དམ་པ་བདུད་རྩིར་བཅས། །

dribsel shö tsang dampa dütsir ché

Pure food that removes obscurations, and sacred nectar:

དྲང་སྲོང་གཤམ་དཀར་སྐུ་ལ་མཆོད་པར་འབུལ། །

drangsong sham kar ku la chöpar bul

All this we offer to the white-robed sage.

ལྷ་མོ་ཨུ་མའི་སྐུ་ལ་མཆོད་པར་འབུལ། །

lhamo umé ku la chöpar bul

We offer to the goddess Umā.

ལེགས་ལྡན་ནག་པོའི་སྐུ་ལ་མཆོད་པར་འབུལ། །

lekden nakpö ku la chöpar bul

We offer to Lekden Nakpo.

ལྷ་མོ་དུང་སྐྱོང་སྐུ་ལ་མཆོད་པར་འབུལ། །

lhamo dungkyong ku la chöpar bul

We offer to the goddess Śaṅkhapāla.

ཨོཾ་བྷུར་ཀུར་ཙནྜ་མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ལ་བཛྲ་ཤྲཱི་ནི་ཨི་དཾ་བ་ལིངྟ་གྲིཧྣ་གྲིཧྞ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།

om bhur kur tsanda mahakala benza shrini idam balingta grihana grihana soha

oṃ bhur kur caṇḍa mahākāla vajra śrīni idaṃ baliṃ ta gṛhṇa gṛhṇa svāhā

ཨོཾ་མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ལ་རཀྴ་དུ་བིང་ཤྲཱི་ནི་ཛཿ པཱུ་ཛ་མེ་གྷ་སྥ་ར་ཎ་ཨརྒྷཾ་དྷཱུ་པེ་པུཥྤེ་ནས་ཤབྟ་རཏྣ་པཱུ་ཛ་མེ་གྷ་ས་མུ་དྲ་སྥ་ར་ཎ་ས་མ་ཡེ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ།

om mahakala raksha dubing shrini dza | pudza megha saparana argham dhupé pupé aloké ghandhé newidyé shabta ratna pudza megha samudra saparana samayé ah hung

oṃ mahākāla rakṣa dubing śrīni jaḥ | pūja megha spharaṇa arghaṃ dhūpe puṣpe āloke gandhe naivedye śabda ratna pūja megha samudra spharaṇa samaye āḥ hūṃ

བསྟོད་ཅིང་ཕྲིན་ལས་བཅོལ་བ་ནི།

Praise and Entrusting Activity

ཧཱུྃ། མཉམ་མེད་མཐུ་མངའ་གཏུམ་ཆེན་མེ་ལྟར་འབར། །

hung, nyammé tu nga tum chen mé tar bar

Hūṃ. Powerful beyond compare, mighty and ferocious one, blazing like fire,

མ་རུངས་འཇོམས་མཛད་དགྲ་བགེགས་ཐལ་བར་རློག །

marung jom dzé dragek talwar lok

Destroying malicious forces and crushing enemies and obstructors to dust.

མཐར་བྱེད་གཞོན་ནུ་འཇིགས་པའི་གད་རྒྱངས་ཅན། །

tar jé zhönnu jikpé gegyang chen

You are the annihilator, youthful and with a terrifying laughter,

སྐལ་ལྡན་དཔའ་བོ་ཁྱོད་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །

kalden pawo khyö la chaktsal lo

Fortunate warrior, to you we offer homage!

 

མགོན་པོ་ཁྱོད་མཆོད་བྱིན་རླབས་ཀྱིས། །

gönpo khyö chö jinlab kyi

Through the blessings of making offerings to you, Gönpo,

ཕྱོགས་དང་དུས་ནི་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ། །

chok dang dü ni tamché du

You touch all beings who strive for good,

སེམས་ཅན་ལེགས་དོན་འབྱོར་པ་ལ། །

semchen lek dön jorpa la

In every direction and at all times—

དགྲ་བགེགས་རྣམ་པ་ཀུན་མེད་ཤོག །

dragek nampa kün mé shok

May all enemies and obstructing forces be totally annihilated!

 

རྟ་དང་བ་ལང་ནོར་དང་འབྲུ། །

ta dang balang nor dang dru

May our horses, cattle, wealth and grain increase,

བུ་ཚ་ཕ་མ་གཉེན་བཤེས་རྣམས། །

butsa pama nyenshé nam

And may our offspring, our parents and relatives,

དགེ་ཞིང་ཚེ་རིང་ནད་མེད་པར། །

gé zhing tsering né mepar

Be always virtuous,

ཐམས་ཅད་འབྱོར་པར་ལྡན་པར་མཛོད། །

tamché jorpar denpar dzö

And live long lives free of illness.

 

འགྲོ་བ་ཉེས་མེད་བདེ་གྱུར་ཅིང་། །

drowa nyemé dé gyur ching

May beings be faultless and happy,

ནད་དང་མུ་གེ་ཀུན་བྲལ་ནས། །

né dang mugé kündral né

Free from sickness and hunger.

རྒྱལ་པོ་དགེ་ཞིང་དེས་པ་རྣམས། །

gyalpo gé zhing depa nam

May our rulers be virtuous and lenient,

ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་བསྐྱང་བར་ཤོག །

chö kyi gyalsi kyangwar shok

Safeguarding the kingdom of Dharma!

 

བདེ་བར་གཤེགས་པའི་བསྟན་པ་འདི། །

dewar shekpé tenpa di

May the teachings of the bliss-gone ones

ཕྱོགས་བཅུ་ཀུན་ཏུ་རྒྱས་པ་དང་། །

chok chu küntu gyepa dang

Flourish and spread in the ten directions,

མྱུར་དུ་སེམས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱང་། །

nyurdu semchen tamché kyang

And may all sentient beings

ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྣོད་དུ་འགྱུར་བར་ཤོག །

chö kyi nö du gyurwar shok

Swiftly become vessels for the Dharma!

 

དགེ་བ་སེམས་ཅན་ལ་བསྔོ་ཞིང་།

gewa semchen la ngo zhing

We dedicate all merit to sentient beings,

མགོན་པོ་ཁྱོད་མཆོད་བྱིན་རླབས་ཀྱིས། །

gönpo khyö chö jinlab kyi

And by the blessings of offering to you, Gönpo,

བདག་ཅག་འཁོར་དང་བཅས་པ་རྣམས། །

dakchak khor dang chepa nam

We pray that we and all those in our retinue

ལོངས་སྤྱོད་རྣམ་གཉིས་རྫོགས་པར་སྨོན། །

longchö nam nyi dzokpar mön

May perfect the two types of enjoyment;²

བདག་ཅག་བྱང་ཆུབ་མཆོག་ཐོབ་ནས། །

dakchak changchub chok tob né

And when we have attained supreme awakening,

ཁྱོད་དང་མི་འབྲལ་འགྲོགས་པར་ཤོག །

khyö dang mindral drokpar shok

May you not leave, but continue to accompany us.

 

ཅེས་པའང་གྲྭ་ཚང་གི་རྒྱུན་འདོན་སྟབས་བདེ་ཞིག་དགོས་ཞེས་མཛོད་པ་འོད་ཟེར་གཞན་ཕན་གྱིས་བསྐུལ་བའི་ངོར་རིག་འཛིན་འཇིགས་མེད་གླིང་པས་སོ།། །།

1. ↑ Namchak Barwa (gnam lcags ‘bar ba). This refers to Sri Pada (Adam's Peak) in Sri Lanka. The term is often translated as the Blazing Meteorite-Iron Mountain. However, Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche has recently remarked that the mountain is always clouded and enveloped in thunderstorms. Therefore gnam lcags is possibly better translated as lightning.
