Guru Yoga

Part of the Longchen Nyingtik cycle, this Vajrasattva guru yoga is entitled 'Cultivating the Pure Realm of Abhirati (or Intense Joy)' but is often known simply as 'Dorsem Ngön-ga' (Abhirati Vajrasattva). It includes all the standard elements of visualization, offering, mantra recitation and receiving empowerment.

The practice of Vajrasattva known as Cultivating the Pure Realm of Abhirati was initially revealed by Jigme Lingpa and forms part of the Longchen Nyingtik. Later, on the basis of a pure vision of Jigme Lingpa, Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo expanded the practice with further pith instructions and composed this elaborate sādhana.
